Tattoo Cover-Up and Reworking

For clients who have an outdated tattoo or scarred line work they no longer enjoy looking at. We do not just pile black ink on top; we map the existing pigments and camouflage them inside new shadows, textures, and lines. You receive a refreshed, intentional piece that hides the past without looking like a dark patch.

Questions about this service

Can any old tattoo be covered?

Most can, but the new design must be roughly two to three times larger than the old one to disguise the dark areas naturally.

Why does an old tattoo sometimes peek through after support?

Old pigment sits deep in the skin. When new ink settles, both layers can become visible together, which is why a second layering session is often planned.

Does covering scarred tattoo lines hurt more?

Scar tissue has altered nerve endings, so it can feel a bit sharper, but we use slower pacing to keep it manageable.

How an appointment unfolds

  1. 1

    Mapping old pigment density

We look at the raised lines and dark pockets to see where we need dark values and where we can leave open skin.

  2. 2

Drawing the flow directly on skin

We sketch the new design with surgical skin markers so the new motifs mask the old shapes naturally.

  3. 3

    Applying the foundational layer

We pack deeper tones into the old lines and build new structures around them in one session.

  4. 4

    Evaluating healed coverage

After six weeks, we inspect how much old pigment shows through and add a second balancing pass if needed.

Why our clients feel at ease

Redesigning, blending, and hiding old or faded ink using smart composition.

No blunt black boxes

We use texture and directional lines to fool the eye, avoiding an awkward solid silhouette.

Respect for compromised skin

Older tattoos often contain scar tissue, so we adjust machine stroke to avoid overworking the area.

Fresh look with new meaning

The finished piece stands as a thoughtful artwork on its own, not an obvious patch.

Stories from our Zaragoza clients

★★★★★
Clean studio on Calle San Miguel. Mateo unwrapped the needles right in front of me, and paying cash on site was very straightforward.

★★★★☆
Booked for my forearm piece. The design adjustment took twenty minutes longer than planned, but the fixed quote was kept exactly as agreed and the protective film stayed intact on the walk home.

Came back for my second piece this year because the lines healed sharp without any rough spots. The studio is quiet, and I paid the final balance by bank transfer before leaving.
